FS: Ameritron AL-82 w/GOP/Boxes Pristine

Purchased 08/12/2020 from HRO Virginia along with the GOP board(Grid Over Load Protection.). As with all my equipment this amplifier is flawless physically and electronically.

Sometime in late October 2020 the amplifier would un-key for no reason. The unit was returned to Ameritron for warranty repair on 11/24/2020. The problem was an intermittent OPR/STBY switch. The amplifier was shipped back on 02/05/2021 next day air and has functioned flawlessly ever since.

I have all the original boxes/manual.

Reason for sale: I’m done with the hobby/radio. Maybe start fishing again.

Everyone wants to know does it work on 11 meters…YES! Does it do legal limit on 11 meters NO it won’t do 4 watts!

Adam…re-read my post and see the humor/sarcasm. Yes it does 11 meters no it doesn’t do legal limit on 11 meters because 4 watts is the max output allowed on AM and the AL82 will do 1500 watts on 11 meters which is not allowed….Got it?

Brought back good memories though. I'll always remember the day my dear Mama picked from school in the 9th grade and drove me out to R&L electronics. I bought an AL-811H and an original RCI-2970 and Roger told me he'd tell me how to open it for "10m" if it'd motivate me to upgrade from a Tech license... Well after having more fun then a kid that age should be allowed, I put down radios for a while and picked up girls.

Mr. 357. I would suggest you familiarize yourself with the Ameritron AL-82 input circuit before making a comment that reflects your lack of knowledge. In addition 1.45 input SWR is just fine. I seriously doubt you or the majority of people Cber’s/Hams have any knowledge of what their input SWR is.

I think its the same as my al1200. I get a 1.17 swr on 11m without touching the input slug.
Your graph showed a 1.7swr. Not a big deal I guess
