I have yaesu 2800 it has been mod to get the murs channels the trouble I'm having is the screen lights up but the rig does nothing else ? tryed unplugging main power hoping it would reset but no luck also tryed pushing in on buttons when i plug the power back in with no luck as it stays on all the time but you can not do nothing with any of the controls ? maybe some different things i could try ? or a good tech to send to to get fixed ? thanks for your help in advance and happy holidays to all.

Still looking and waiting ? there has to bo sombody around ? thanks for any help.

Ranger,
Did you do the mod? I'd check that it was done correctly (no solder bridges to wrong locations etc.) and if possible reverse the mod to see what happens. Also most of the mods require a CPU reset after they are done, I guess this was completed?
Otherwise...
looks like no-one has any ideas (me included). Might have more luck posting the question to a couple of the Yahoo groups.
Theres one specifically for the FT2800 and another called Amateur-Repairs.

Yes we did the mod right and done the reset as well the rig is about 2 years old and was working good but yes I know what you are saying buy checking it.
I will try the ones you say on yahoo and see what I come up with and if I cant get it fixed it will go in the trash I guess and buy another one thanks for your help. :x
