FT-2800M Help?

For some reason, my mobile will not transmitt on the amatuer bands(144-148).
Although, it will transmit just fine on the MARS bands.

I did a mod on it when the rig was new so that I might use it on a fire dept and
use for MARS. That was 16 months ago. It worked fine until a few days ago.

Can anyone help me solve this problem?

I have 2 of these 2800 great radios they are but I noticed my newest one you pushed a few buttons on and it opened the transmit range I then did a reset and it put it back to stock without master reseting everything which was cool it was a reset just for that mod option.

The last one I bought from a local has the mod and is opened but it must be an older model I cant reset it so its an internal mod I just keep that one for my use and the kids use the one that I can put back to stock which is where it actually stays.

The one you have how did you open the TX was it a mod done at the face controls like my newest model or did you have to do the solder jump inside?? if it was done byy pushing the face buttons look in your manual towards the back it had a page with a Master Reset and this other Reset I speak of I actually posted this on the forum this past year so look back and it should be there it was a thread someone else started by asking about this mod.

let me know if you dont find it and if this mod was done at the face Ill send you the directions if not then its most likely a project of opening that rig and reversing the mod Im thinking the partial reset should do it or take care of it Good luck with it

The radio was mod the day after I recieved it. The radio has worked flawless
for the past 18 months on both the amateur bands and area emergency responder agencies.

The mod was internal by changing the three pads. I did the reversal mod to bring it back to orginal state and both areas of the bands were not operational.
So I returned it to the mod to be able to use the upper freq's.

The unit has been reset both ways and nothing is fixed.

The unit was working fine, then I left town for a week and came back and
my mobile was the way it is now?

Help please?
