Fun little RC Quad copter

Helimax makes a nice small quad copter too. The sq1 or something, have one, fun as heck to fly and can be flown indoors or outdoors too. Even for its small size it did well outdoors. I also have an old parrot ar drone 1 and 60 best controller that plugs Into my iPad. Controller looks like a play station controller. The ar drone is cool with but limited in range due to wifi. They can be made to fly long distance though with not too much money these days as 2.4ghz tx controllers are getting cheaper. It's another addicting hobby, I was more into land rc but started getting into air stuff as the quads are just a blast to fly. Anyway, Have fun with that small thing.

looks like fun, but I think I like the look of the former worlds smallest quadcopter better.
I can see why you'd like the newer one better though mudfoot. new one seems like it would be easier to find after the cats knock them under the couch or across the room.

I am going to try and make it to Orlando for the fest. Not too far from there, hopefully it won't be a bust. Heard last year it was not bad.

I already crashed and screwed one motor up. I"m gonna try and just get replacement parts, if possible. I'm glad it wasn't an expensive quad...Oh well, I forsee many crashes.

I will say my little helimax sq1 took some major crashes and survived. And this was flying outdoors. While being a bit larger they are the most stable ones I have flown, very easy to control, even outside as long as its not windy. They buzz around very well.

I'm really catching the RC bug. Bought a few other nano quads. My favorite is the Hubsan X4.

I want to get proficient with quads, then work my way up to gas powered helicopters. My old army buddy is into the hobby and guiding me.

Big fun!

They surely are fun!! I was at the level to where I just about bought a DJI Vision. The one with the iPhone interface transmitter for FPV flight. My Ar drone can be modded to do this as well. You add a better antenna system and better transmitter and they are capable of flying well over 400 meters with FPV. I haven't played with them for a couple years now and from the looks of it, it has taken off big time. Tapatalk has a bunch of forums, when I was on there, there werent many groups. Now everybody is on there. I have about 6 rc trucks and cars just collecting dust as well as my helimax sq-1 and my ar drone. Maybe I need to break the at drone back out and gibe her a whirl. They really are fun. You must like nitro better than batteries I take it as you said you plan on getting a gas powered heli, I like the batts better. They aren't expensive these days and in the end will have less issues, less cost, and way more "play time". This has been my experience with nitro anyway. Always having to tune the darn things got old to me. Once a good electric heli is dialed in you need nothing more than fresh battery packs to keep flying. At any rate have fun and enjoy man. If you learn to fly those little quads around well, you shouldn't have much issue with using larger ones at all. Once you feel you are getting better, turn the expos up and start doing some faster flying. Anyway I'm sure you know this. Again enjoy, you got me thinking about them now lol. Good day.
