Has anyone done the clarifier mod to this radio Galaxy DX-2527 base ? After doing this mod what exactly will change. Im not sure since this radio has a digital display. I know that when I talk on ssb the transmit is dead on but I have to turn the clarifier to around 2 Oclock position to get the receive freq clear. After doing the clarifier would that put the clarifier to the 12 O clock position on ssb. Thank you in advance....

This Mod will fit all of the following ,RCI2950, 70, 85, 95-DX. All having the same PCB.

1. Remove D-63 & R-115,Using a soldering iorn.
D-63 is in a row of 5, last one to the right next to VR-8,frequency adjust
R-115 is in a row of 2 next to the J-28 (a 3-pin connector) right side closest to the connector .

2. Find the J-28 connector F-1 pin BLACK wire , Add a wire on top of the black wire ,
the other end of this wire to an 8V source space in J-29 connector.
Note: The 8-volts can also be obtained from connectors J29, J27 or J26.
Note J-29 may not be marked,it is (black) in color.

Readjust L-19 LSB, L-20 USB with clarifier at center.

Thats what I said the dx-2527 mod is the one you posted. The 2970 and 2950 mod is different....

And you are right about the chassis.

However you are wrong about removing the diode and the resistor. The diode should be removed - yes. But the resistor is removed AND MOVED to a different spot on the board.

Didn't you check out my last post?

Yes I know that the resistor is reused in a different place. i was just stating that different resistors are removed. My main question here is the dx-2527 is all digital and you can set the freq anywhere you want it. Will the receive on ssb start tracking with the receive and be on 12 O clock again.

Nope; when a clarifier mod is done you will need to re-align the PLL/VCO circuit. That is why I included that alignment page on one of my previous posts.
