Hi, thanks for the post but not quite that simple to find a data sheet, part is RCI8719-99. Does anyone know if the DOT on the IC chip is at pin 1? Thanks, Adam
Any typical DIP outline is STADARDIZED - meaning that to obtain even a sellable part, it cannot be anything else but this - it's a standard set by ISO for compatibility reasons -
Comparability reasons stated as a replacement for the MB8719 - even to able to be a drop in...READ Compatibility
Locate pin 1 in this diagram...
If you cannot find it in this diagram
you may need to locate a local tech
to help guide you...
I guess it just has to be said somewhere in this forum...
So you know - if you are looking for Pin 8 - Pin 8 is NOT the last pin on an MB8719, RCI 8719 or any type of 8719 PLL chip - ok?
You're in a 2517 - are you sure you are using an MB8719 / RCI 8719 or something more exotic like say a MC145106???
Then when you post that, Pin 8 there's nothing on it...it's the PLL's clock-out signal not used...
That was why I showed the PLL stuff...
With Galaxy under the RCI umbrella, it is too easy to fix the right radios with the wrong parts...
Especially since they're done away with the 3600 series and introduced at least three different series of boards to their lineup...(6900-696-929 - just for starters)
So when you mentioned you had the "11" board - there are too many of them (referring to radio "types") using 10D or 11Z to give you any straight answer excerpt to give you the datasheet...
Pin 8 isn't used in one, but on another it is used for Lock function, but uses a different chip
No matter what - you can't be too sure about anything...
