Rats Andy, replaced the cap (.047uf/50V) but no luck. Anyway, I will perhaps check a few diodes and resistors, I will ask this last time for your help then take the radio out back and shoot it. For diodes (zeners) etc, forgive me again, best way to check them and which ones are the most likely candidate? After this I will turn in my soldering iron, I wasted too much of your time already.
