any operators using this radio what are your overall thoughts of the radio and opinions on ssb i am not sure if fm is used much in the states but more interested to hear feedback on the radios performance on ssb and any thoughts on the ammount of heat this radio produces even on low power mine gets very hot using it in my four wheeler for mobile use and a wilson 1000 mag mount as an antenna if i had the choice i would use a predator 10k antenna on a mag mount or tripod mag mount as ive heard nothing but praise for this antenna matched up with the preddator also if any operators know of any future ham fests in there location i have a lot of friends on the radio in michigan around the kalamazoo area those ham fests are preety neat in ireland we call them radio rallys and thereare uasually a handfull every year mine is the enniskillen rally and its on the 14 th of april in the killyhevlin hotel a great day to meet friends who i speak to on the radio and a chance to drink some fine guinness and buy and sell some equipment many thanks for any advice or comments on the galaxy

I love mine. Screams on AM and very stable on SSB. You will be happy with it. It is well worth the money to get a good(someone who knows what they are doing) alignment on it.

I agree with post above. Mine is inline on the base most of the time. They do get hot with DK above 20 watts or so. I run a small cage fan on it. It Rocks!
