can anybody help me with my galaxy 99.recive off frequncy problem.hot or cold. are there any mods for a palomar 450 high drive.more power. if i am in the wrong place for this can someone direct me to the proper place. i am new here but not new to radios.

Well, first off I would say if you have problems with the 99 get it aligned and on frequency by a good tech, The palomar 450 is what it is, there are no mods really. Just make sure you have enough amps to run it and use large enough wire to feed it.

Does that Palomar have 4 x 1446s in it ? or a variable drive ? I've had one for about a month now , not like any one I've ever had before , this one does 125 to just under 500 pep with about a 1.5 to 20 watt drive on AM and it's AB biased . Does about the same on SSB with a 20 watt drive.

I have been amazed what those 1446s can do on 11 meters ! they will surely give the 2290s and the 454s a run for the money ! Sounds like you need a good radio doctor for your 99 , might do you justice to take your amp in with you so the Doc can make them sing together as they could.

Good luck to you.
