Did all of the Galaxy Dx 44v radios have the frequency counter plug in jack on the back of them?
I remember there was a knock off brand "Northstar" that made similar radios. I was wondering if the Northstar version of the Galaxy Dx44v had the frequency counter jack on the back?
It would be very easy to buy a Galaxy faceplate stick it on a Northstar chasis and call it a Galaxy.
Just trying to figure out if the radio I have is a Northstar with a Galaxy faceplate on it. Or if it is a genuine Galaxy radio.
My radio has no frequency counter plug in on the back above the power cord jack?

I had a 44 and it has a freq counter plug on the upper right hand side. Good talker for a single final radio. Gave it to my friend because it did not have side band.

Just sell it on E-Bay, you will be fine.

I was just trying to remember about this. I do not remember the radios built in the 1st few years having the freq plug on them. they used 2 versions of the 360014 board and the 2nd version seems from memory to have the plug and not the 1st version.

I have to agree. I was looking around the net and saw a review by CB Radio Magizine.Com and his didn't have the frequency counter plug in on the back.
I was concerned that maybe I got a Northstar instead of a galaxy when I bought the radio.
I had friends who had Northstar radios and they complained the build quality was poor compared to the Galaxy models.
The Northstar radios did sound good on the air when done right though.
