look at cbtricks, easy switch mod, cut two wires, put in two switches, but you won't get all the channels.
 
I agree, Doug at Custom cb radio's uses the Viagra board and then the bands are controlled by the lo med hi tone switch right on the front of the radio. Very slick.

relatively difficult to install

the switch mod is the cheapest and easiest, and gives you most of what you wanted.

I guess it depends on what is important.
