I hooked the plug up backwards without looking, !@#!@ it had a polarity notch but this connector was a loose fit and it pushed the thrid pin back into the radio and got hooked up backwards. D93 went up in smoke literally.
I hope to god D93 was for protection.
Please someone tell me I am right or wrong.

I was right. D93 is for the radio's protection and by some luck ratshack had it in stock. I recommend removing the middle pin, forces you to use your eyes.

lol thats what i did today moving it from my truck to car.

I know someone who hooked up a 16 pill Davemade backwards. Joe charged him $800 to replace all the 2879s. Like Mack said, leave the plug in the radio all the time.
If the plug puts up a fight when you are attaching it to the radio....maybe somethings wrong.
Buy a separate radio for the truck and car, better idea still.

i used what i had, the plug from my midland, same plug, wrong polarity but when i first hooked it up i didnt pay attention to the plug and only the polarity so it went in right, just pushed the middle connector up inside the radio so i thought it was right plug.

i never again will trust a plug, from now on visually look.
