I have a Galaxy Melaka that was aligned by our local tech because I was having problem with SSB he showed how and what to adjust for SSB to get radio on frequency and clarifier on middle position but every time I turn on radio clarifier position to clear people up has changed and also my transmit has done the same so I have to readjust then all is good until next time any ideas what to do ? Radio works fantastic on AM no problems. Thanks Jimbo

different peoples radios, especially radios with unlocked clarifiers will often end up on slightly different frequencies. having to tune people in on sideband is to be expected, that's why you have the clarifier.

Yup, Galaxy radio's drift like a sailboat. Once the radio warms up it won't be as bad. If you live in an area of the county that has winter weather you will chase the clarifier like a dog chases his tail.

also you have to remember the radios of the other guy's are more than likely drifting also when they 1st turn them on to compound the problem. it's not just your radio moving on freq at startup.

Well went thru complete alignment by cb tricks and radio is still got a problem transmiting on ssb it keeps changing I even have set it to another radio by talking to him and setting transmit freq to come in on freq on their radio but still same next time turn radio on it is off . This radio works great on Am but just problems on ssb have taken it to a tech and same problem when I got it back. Any suggestions besides selling it. Thanks Jimbo

Sounds like the radio is working fine. It's a Galaxy, if you turn it off and come back later it's going to drift off a tad until it warms back up. Many other Exports are like this as well.

Your only option would be to get a processor controlled Export or step up to an HF rig.

the radio does not have a problem other than it is the way it works. no matter what you do it will still drift some on you and after it gets warm it will stabilize some what. you can send it to a tech but it will come back still doing the same thing.
Robb tried some things to a galaxy awhile back and it still drifted some from what he said. he changed a lot of the caps with no real luck.
