Anyone using one of the new ones and how do you like it? Love the looks and wanted to try one out. Just getting a varriable dk and getting it alligned. Hope it talks like it looks. I have the grants and the lincoln for SSB.

I think it's as good a radio as the old school cobras for the simple fact it uses the old boards and has had an upgrade from analog display to lcd and gives you more options to personalize it to your likings.

Lipstick on a pig if you will that you can take out to dinner,:tt1:

Radio should be here today. Didnt get done with it till tuesday. Im sure its not the best radio ever made but should be fun to play around with. Getting a smoker, a pair of keen hiking boots and a cb radio. Do ya think maybe im a redneck?

Good deal. Looks like it is a fun radio. I never had a 29 before. Im sure its far from the best radio made but it does look like it will be fun to play with. Thanks pork chop for the info on the recieve. I will most likely still use a grant xl most the time.

So far so good. I really like it so far. Everone says it sounds real well. Recieve is pretty darn good and love the colors and how the menu and controls work. Talkback is alittle wimpy but I dont use it anway. Channel selector/menu button is not real sturdy feeling and dont know how it would hold up mobile so im kinda easy on it changing channels and using the menu. On the base I hope it will hold up ok. Love using it and so far its a keeper. DK goes from 0 to 8 watts and swings to 20 watts pep on a diawa true pep meter. Swings foward on avg power meter even at max dk which I know is too high. Run it about 4 watts dk when barefoot. Drives my boxes real nice also.
