Thanks a lot for posting the video "How to work amateur radio satellites with your handheld (HT) radio." It was really easy to understand. I'm hoping to get licensed in the next few months and plan to concentrate on satellite use.

I've already ordered an Arrow antenna but I had a question about which transceiver to get. Would you recommend going with a handheld like in your video, such as the Yaesu VX-8DR, or a portable unit such as the Yaesu FT-817ND?

Are there any articles on the web that give specific equipment recomendations or comparisons for satellite use? Much of what I have found seems dated.

Thanks a lot for your time.

Cheers,

John
