Have fun with the new radio. While not full duplex, that Yaesu VX-8DR works great for satellites. The easiest way to set it up is like I showed in the video, where you use a crossband odd-split. You'll be able to hear the satellites when they make their pass even with the stock antenna, and you'll be able to hear the APRS traffic on the ISS if you put the radio on 145.825 Mhz. Let us know how it works out when you get your license!
