This is not my chan mod... just passing it along

The Grant LT is very easy to modify. You can do it very easily with two single pole switches. Connect one switch from ground to pin # 10 and connect the other switch from ground to pin # 11. That's it. You're done.

Both switched open = normal channels

Both switches closed = middle HF channels

Switch for pin # 10 closed = upper HF channels

Switch for pin # 11 closed = below one channels

I may may switch 10 and 11funtions backwards but you should get the general idea.

MISTAH B35, I have been using Quick Disconnects on both of my cars for a while, but don`t skimp on the quality. I have forund that Hustler makes a very good one called a Model QD-2, it is made from 100% Machined Stainless Steel, not chrome plated brass. I have seen the brass ones break under heavy antenna loads, and cheap ones with high carbon steel springs that the spring will rust after a while and you suddenly have a swr problem( its not a good thing to key your 8 pill into a rusty connector, bad things happen) so I stick with the all stainless steel one. You could Give Frank at One Stop Electronics a call and ask if they stock them, or any of the large Ham stores, AES, Ham radio outlet, Ect will have them.

I'm considering modifing my GRANT LT for uppers and lowers. There's the EXPO channel kit, CBCI's channel kit, and the old run a switch off the ic method. basically I'm looking for the method that would yield the most channels without the skips. I have "10 Meter" radios and by no means am I trying to get the Grant to match their tuning range, I'm just looking to get the DX freqs outside the regular 40.
