other then the backlit knobs, front mounted mic connector with some SMT stuff attatched, & the 'dynamic squelch control' thingie on the LT, there's really nothing to differentiate themsleves from each other. they mod the same & can be made to SCREAM on both xmit & rcv. probably the best CB radios ever made. if you can find NIB, it's one of the few radios that is actually worth the premium paid over the 'new' cost of 10-15 years ago-within reason.
I think Mr Grant pretty much hit the nail on the head there. Those back lites on the LTs' sure look sharp though

I found a older 148. Dirt cheap but the guy decided to keep it. I saw that DTB had a uniden lt for sale. Thanks for the reply

I picked up a Grant LT, Grant XL and a Cobra 148 ( made in Phillipines ) this week . The LT is almost mint in the original box. Don't know whether to keep it stock, expand it or sell it . It should be worth new price in the condition it's in ?

I'm getting excellent reports with my Grant XL . I've run 2950DXs for 5 years , but enjoy getting back to these CB radios.
I'm keeping my XL and 148 , and selling the Grant LT ( stock in the original box )

i am the same way had been running the Grant XL tried out a 2950DX and had to go back to my ol'e XL nothing like the ears, no white noise i put a frequency counter on it and put the 2950 back in the box for a back up nothing can hold a candle to the Grant XL as for as extra watts heck we all know what to do about that if need be. and as far as free band you can get the same from the Grant XL and with the continuos read freq counter you have basicly all the freeband channels that folks talk Dx on lot of dead channels on the 2950 DX no one talks on around here.unit725 said:
