I haven't used the 700 but the Tecsun H-501x is great choice it's very sensitive and has great speakers. It can run the battery down quicker than expected with volume raises but it's great.

I would also suggest you look in to the Tecsun S-8800 I own that one too and it is great as well and very sensitive.

I can't answer for the Grundig 700 so I'll leave that to somebody else but in my opinion you can't go wrong with Tecsun.
