well I have worked GITMO many times,..... but I spun the vfo there and was just listening to the exchanges.
it didn't take 5 min until some KiloCycle Kop came up on .498 and whined because a station 3 Kc away was being "splattered" :headbang

My response would have been "At 3 Kc's your being QRM'ed? Get a better receiver! QRZ?......" LOL
I have been giving the same advice lately. Especially to the "appliance" operators.
