I have used them only setting up a clothes line for a friend. Be sure you let the lines lay out in direct sun light before installing. They will sag if not warmed up. Also be sure that the turnbuckles have sufficient draw in length and are strong enough to handle the load.Anyone out there ever used ferrules to make swage in steel cables for guying?
Mind explaining that a little bit, I'm not sure what you mean.
I believe there is a mixture of terminology here. Swaged fitting are for plumbing and there is a company named Swagelock. Some of these fitting contain a two part ferrule for the best and strongest joint. The crimp connector is a steel sleeve that is crimped on the cable with special tools. On steel cables it is usually hydraulic in nature. I made more than cables than I care to remember.
sorry I wasn't clear in describing what I meant but I got the information I'm looking for from Caption Kilowatt. I'm going to use the cable saddle clamps. Thanks everyone for the information.
Yeah OK So you mean cable ferrules like this:
Just never heard the term swaged used in conjunction with them however. I have used them before on small cable but prefer cable saddle clamps.
