the 757 is about the first rig to offer CAT control. you had to "roll your own" software.
also it has some ROTARY switches vs ELECTRONIC switches so software control is (almost) impossible for those functions controlled by rotary switches

What computer did you own 25 years ago....
For that matter what did you look like 25 years ago!!!!.....grade school?
Well that's where CAT controls were 30 years ago when that radio was in production....
The TS-440sat is twice the radio as the 757(when the're working)...
The 757(even the GXII) was a good "Starter" radio for Ham usage....(Last production run 1988...)
However with the "MOD" switch inside we know which "market" Yaesu was targeting when that was imported!!!
No matter how hard you try....you can't make a Lincoln out of a Pinto!....

Good to know well I like its 5x easier to use making contacts then with the ic-7000
After a few months ill step it up to a ts440s. The two filter knobs sure are fun to use and easier then stupid menus
