My family (parents) celebrated Christmas in a more traditional manner; the Christmas tree did not go up until Xmas Eve and, the 12 Days of Christmas started on 12/25 and ended with a festival called Twelfth Night where they burn all the Christmas Trees in a huge Bonfire.

Christmas is not over, in fact, today is the first day of Christmas; what has thankfully ended is "The Winter Spending Season".
