Interesting discussion. Around "here" just about all the hunters have CB or marine radios in their pickup trucks for coordinating hunting activities. Lots of business band radios in pickups as well. We have a lot of hams in the area that run 40 meter mobiles and have screwdriver antennas on their cars and trucks. Most public safety is 800 trunking, so most of those antennas are easily discernible from other radio services.

One of the local PD's makes a point of pulling over EVERY used, unmarked PD cruiser as they are the vehicle of choice for drug smugglers. Interestingly enough, over 90% of those they pull over in these vehicles have drugs hidden in them!

Don't think it's a good idea to go into a biker bar with an XTS5000 or APX on your belt.:drool:
