A few years back, people were buying the new RCI 2970DX-N2 radios that had the RCI/MOSFET power cabinet. Of course, the first thing that people did once they got the radio, is turn everything up. A radio that would do ~160w from the factory was now doing 240w - WOW! But, not without consequnces.

The radios were then dropping like flies and everyone blamed RCI/Ranger for it. But the problem was, that the shops or private individuals that turned these radio up were clearly at fault. A MOSFET is very inexpensive means to make power. But abuse it just a little, and they will fail. Everybody stopped turning up those amps, and the problem stopped too.
