The 35 Whelen is a funny round. If you read articles about it, they are filled with outrageous claims. One writer claimed it was the most popular 30-06 wildcat. Apparently he had never heard of the .270 or 25-06. I don't doubt they were an inexpensive "magnum" before magnums were plentiful, but I don't see myself jumping on that train.

What is it about the 35 whelen that punches your primer?
