Just want to say that my station should be up and running within the next two weeks. I will be getting my IMAX 2000 pretty soon. Once I get everything up and running, of course, I will be experimenting with my radio to see who is in my area and who else I can contact. I am going to be focusing on 36 LSB & 38 LSB and others in the USB & LSBs. Hope to hear some of you soon! I like the videos of DX contacts (40mobile near the Golden Gate)...

well i for one would like to get a contact from palm springs; that is a very rare QSO from here in the deserts of southern nevada.

My dad up in Washington State had a lot of contact last week with Southern California, specifically Palm Springs for about 8-9 hours, and also the Mojave Desert, which is just north of me. He uses an RCI 2950 and a Sirio Vector 4000 7/8 wave on top of a 40ft tower...

My dad was telling me about an umbrella antenna out in the middle of the Arizona desert that is located on an abandoned military base that a lot of radio operators will go out to and hook up their equipment to. Anyone heard of this?
