Correct me if I am wrong but to be able to transmit on this radio there are 2 pins on the octal plug that should be crossed, right???

If that is true which pins do you cross?

I would like to test this radio out

Hey FX see page 124 (I think) for cabling hook-ups....but you might want to run through the check list section( about 10 previous pages) just to make sure everything is as it should be first...
That old girl is 50+ plus years old...
"Those require SPECIAL handling"(y)
Enjoy

ok I managed to find an Amphenol 8 pin octal plug in my junk box... it almost fits... but it only lines up maybe 4 pins at a time, the other 4 are off a bit... what GIVES?

It's page 126 of that link, and I don't see anything requiring "crossing" any of the pins. Just curious, but why do you want to operate a transmitter (especially one this old) without a receiver?

just testing it out, making sure it's up and running before I do anything

How are you going to know if the transmitted signal is stable, on frequency (the Marauder doesn't have a digital display, IIRC) and clean? Be sure to use a dummy load...
