I am the owner of an ID-5252, and know it is an audio load, but what is it, and what are its uses?
Anyone know?

Thanks,
Homer

Thanks Doc,
Now I still don't know what a person actually does with one of them . . .

Someone elsewhere provided this info for me
Perfect for servicing and testing audio power amplifiers at higher power levels without disturbing your neighbors or spouse. Contains four 8 ohn dummy load resistors, each rated at 60 watts. By combining these four in various series/parallel combinations, it is possible to make up any desired combination of 4 - 8 - 16 ohm loads at up to 240 watts RMS capacity.

It is A Dummy Load, for testing Audio Amps at different Impedance`s
Just like you would use a RF dummy load to test a RF radio Amp, this would be used to test a Audio Amp ( stereo amp)
