Well fellas I've tried searching for days and have come to no conclusion as to what this board could be.
Now I turn to you wwdx comrades, maybe some here knows what this board is.

It comes with mounting tab and all the wiring but for what? The vc1, is it a band board of some kind, a frequency counter board replacement? Any help is appreciated. 20221222_124031.jpg20221222_124250.jpg

I appreciate you fellas replies.

I've got a few of them that I bought in a lot several years back. They came just as you see them, no control pots, wiring diagram or anything. If they're a voice changer should have had controls and documentation but they have none of that.

The datasheet shows what the pins do and some common ways to use the it with external circuitry. I wouldn't be surprised, for the CB world anyhow, if someone just copied the schematics from that datasheet (edit, nevermind that, it looks different, need the board schematic to know). If I have time later, I will see if I can find anything out from that board number.

If you've ever seen those toys that have a mask and a speaker inside that mask that when the kid wears the mask and speaks into that device - the speaker or the membrane (Piezo element) vibrates the mask to make this new voice.

People whom used to use a voice changer for fighting back against harassing phone calls...similar idea - disguise the voice...

The "Darth vader" is one type of use, another would be those PA horns used for funny gags that change you voice to a higher or lower pitch than what you have.

So you use a Rotary switch or press a button to change the program to force the sampled sounds to a higher or lower "speed" or pitch - which is by using those pins in a binary way - can change the speed to match or speed up or slow down - the output sampling - the sampling is "set" - but the headers are for the speaker, power and selected input (speaker part is more than likely it is for a piezo element that is glued to the mouthpiece of the mask or the PA Horn)

You know the funny part?
