Help me setup my home base...150kilowatts

What I have...
1)uniden pc68xl cb radio
2) wilson 1000 antenna
3)4 pill amp driven by a 1 or 2 pill amp
4)Bird Thruline Wattmeter

I had all of this connected to my car but when i drove back from the country i couldn't use it any more b/c im in the city(kinda) so i disconnected from my car and want to use it in my room...main reason i disconnected was b/c when i use my cb outside my fam complained about me coming through the TV speakers. so would this be a good idea b/c i have the cb connect with the antenna running to the roof on top on the chimney. but i dont have my amp connected. :angry: HELP

...hmm. For 150 Kilowatts of output, the first thing you might do is contact your power company and ask if they'll put another generator on line. Another power drop to your station would also be a good idea.

One thing about it. With a 150Kw you would never need to go to the hospital for kemo if you had cancer.......what am i saying. With that much power you would never need a night light to go outside in the dark...YOU WOULD GLOW!!

cant say that this will for sure cure your bleedover problems, but there is a good chance that the reason you were coming through the TV speakers is because you were driving that 4 pill amp with another amp. (either 1 or 2 pills, doesnt matter)

try running the 4 pill amp with just the 68xl.
if that is not enough drive for your 4 pill, you can do the MOSFET final mod to it, and it should be a good match for the 4 pill.

you could also just use the 2 pill after the 68xl, which would only be 1/2 an S-unit less than the 4 pill.


but by far the biggest improvement you need to make is to get an actual base station antenna instead of using that wilson on the roof.

Yeah, get rid of the 2 pill driving 4 pill first...that will probably help a lot. One or the other, but not both. And then figure out how to get a regular base antenna up off the roof a bit. That will help more.

I agree, get a base antenna as high up in the air that you can. Run a clean tune, and don't over drive your amplifier.
