Im trying to wire this microphone for standard Uniden 4 pin pinout. The Microphone has 4 wires they are Shield White Black and Red. I have it wired as succh and Mic wont even Keyup.

1. Shield
2. White
3. Black
4. Red

As I said I get noting from the mic it doesnt even key the radio. I know alot of people are gonna say that Red and Black should be switched around but...Turner Microphones for whatever reason use Black as transmit and Red as recieve.

Anyone familiar with these old RK-70 noise canceling compression Mics any help would be appreciated. Ide really like to try this microphone out on SSB I really like the way my +3 hand mic sounds on SSB and also like the way my Plus Three base mics sound on SSB aswell and am trying to get this RK-70 going to try it out.

sounds like its the 4 wire relay switched setup tony,
you need to move the red wire from pin3 to pin4 and put a jumper wire from pin3 to ground where the cable connects inside the mic,

wire the plug
1. Shield
2. White
3. Black
4. Red

if your rig rx's without the mic you can leave the mic,

wire the plug
1. shield + red
2. white
3. black

Bob what Im doing is Im setting it up 4 pin but will use an adapter for my 6 pin to 4 pin RCI and and 8 pin to 4 pin yaesu adapters ETC. If the mic sounds good I may just wire it up direct for either RCI or Yaesu.

I was thinking that it was wired for relay thats all I could come up with. I seen the 4 hookup pins in the mic and seen 1 pin was empty or not touched and didnt see the shield coming in to the mic circuit board so it had me baffled.

Bob will this mic sound simular to the Plus Three desk mic and JM +3 hand mic? Or is it not worth messing with? I do not like the sound of D1O4 desk or hand mics. They sound soo damn tinny and have no fidelity sound on SSB. I have a closet filled with D104 desk and the better older style D104 hand mics. Hell I still have one brandnew in the box but simply dont care for the sound on SSB.

I should really sell the damn things LMAO!! I joke with the 11 meter guys out here because they love these D104 mics, I tell them Im gonna set all these D104 mics I have up outside and take a 9 Iron gulf club and take all the heads off them LMAO!!

its years since i heard a turner rk, i gave the last one i had to mack, i don't recall the, been tinny like a d104m6.

Bob so since my 2950DX recieves without a mic plugged in I just do the internal wire swap and leave the mic plug wiring alone?? Also, can I run Pin 3 jumper to shield connection on the circuit board?
