This is EXACTLY the reason the replies have been shut off, everyone feels they have to put their 2 cents in on why the mod is done or how stupid it is or how bad the soldering is done. NONE of it actually has to do with the sale.
There are 30+ other sections where discussion is allowed.
Bringing it to another section like what was done here is acceptable because you do not affect the for sale ad.
If you see something you don't like in a for sale ad in the news paper, reply directly to that ad,,,,,,,,,,,,

OH WAIT, you can't
So, take it leave it.
It all depends what you are looking for...
To run AM on 11 meters, you can get some great audio on the cheap...
A few cap mods to the right radio, a basic outboard processor, and a decent mic, and you are sounding great on the 11 meter band in AM mode...
SSB is harder to do on an 11 Meter rig and not worth the effort.
In this case one post saying, whats this hifi mod you seek? And he explains and boom done. Then 17 other people can read it in ten seconds instead of sending off pm's.
Eastside, a local guy did a bunch of work to Washington base in an efort to broadband the radio and then run it with lots of rack gear. In the end he sold it and bought a loaded ham radio and was much happier.

Since it's retarded that I can't post a question in the sale section I will ask here. What in the world do you mean by tx rx hifi mod???? Sounds like something a truck driver paid 75 bucks for from some hack shop and now brags on channel 19. And he has no idea he just got ripped off.
If I may add...
Most likely they have increased the value of the bypass caps in the TX and RX audio chains.
However, if you run a standard CB Mic (spec'ed 300-4500 Hz), you will still sound like a normal CB on the air.
To get the "Hi-Fi" (and I use that term loosely) you need at least a low end studio mic and a basic Mic preamp... That will get you a fuller, more natural tone on the TX audio.
Do you know how to solder?
You can open up a 148 for "Hi-Fi" for about $5 worth of capacitors
