Is $489.00 for a used Yaesu TF100D a good price? The radio looks like new. Anyone have one? Likes, dislikes??

Ive always wanted one or to try one out, I think thats about average for the price and I actually have the newer model the FT-857D. I actually have the original sales brochure for the FT-100D.

I heard Yaesu no longer supports this rig. The PA transister was discontinued. Yaseu came out with a replacement PA, but now has apparently dropped it altogether. So you may wnat to check this out before you pay to much for the radio.

I second this last reply do some checking on this before buying because if parts are no longer available you end up with an exspensive paperweight and thats rediculous when rocks are just as good of a paperweight and their free.

I hate to see you spend money like that and then something happens and parts are not avaiable  Call these guys there excellent with these old rigs and know whats available and whats not.

For just a FEW more dollars you can find an ICOM 706 MII or maybe a MK IIG with PLENTY of parts around for BOTH but NOT for the ORIGINAL 706.I don't think FINALS are being made any longer which could be VERY BAD news if you have one of those who on the PLAIN OLD 706?

I paid $600 for an FT-100D with the separation kit a year ago. This summer the TX quit but that turned out to be the SMD sense resistors which Burghardt Repair replaced. It wasn't cheap to fix it, but it works much better now, although it's sitting in a box since the work truck died and I'm driving a loaner. :crying:
