I'm out camping in the nearby mountains for a not-far-from-home brief get-away and just decided to try to hit a satellite I hadn't worked before. I just hit "Saudisat", SO-50 on a pass that went right over the top (85 degrees) of me using the Alinco DJ-G7 HT and the Arrow antenna. I worked a couple of stations through it, no problem. I'm still trying to use the repeater on the ISS, but I haven't managed to be able to coordinate my schedule with theirs
I said it before...you guys that aren't trying this are missing out on a lot of fun. I KNOW a lot of you have HT's...if you don't want to buy a handheld antenna, build one. It's just too fun!
