Eastside, that is not a low impedance mic nor is it a balance xlr.

The impedance on that mic is 1000ohm, most ham radios "usually"

are 250-600 which is still low impedance. Two of the pins on the four that go into

the mic are pin 2, audio, pin 1, audio ground, pin 4 I believe is the ptt and pin 3 is the

ptt ground. I'm not really sure what a cb radio like for impedance input. With the mic gain turn all the way up, even in the radio is it still low on audio? There's some $49 preamps made by ART that you can usually pick up from a guitar store that have balanced and unbalanced input and output. That model has a impedance matching switch, button, that will set the mic match to 600 ohm. With that in mind use 1/4 inch mono plugs from the mic using the Heil cable you got or make your own, though I haven't seen any four pin style xlr ends at the guitar shops that I have around me. You can simply take off the four

pin mic connector and remove the pin two and one from the mic connector. That would be the audio and ground for the mic. Leave the pin 3 and 4 on the four pin connector to the radio as that's the PTT and ground and make sure it's going to the right connectors for that radio. Solder the audio and ground to a 1/4" mono connector, audio center pin and ground to sleeve. That way you hook up the 1/4 to the mic preamp input. From the output just get a decent shielded 1/4 to 1/4 mono cable from the guitar store while you're there at what ever length you might need to make it even with the Heil cable or longer. Cut off one end of the 1/4 cable and then wire the center pin from the output, audio, to the audio in on the four pin connector that goes into the radio and the audio ground can just be soldered to the same ground as the PTT. You'll have to play with how much you'll need to turn up the gain on the preamp as well as the mic gain on the radio to not overdrive it. Start low and work up. This is how you would do a standard balanced mic with only 3 connectors, except you would need to have a footswitch or some type of momentary switch for the PTT circuit.
