I recommend and use these:
AKG D58 = 7 to 10000 Hz
Hypercardioid microphone for use in noisy environments; small and inconspicuous;
noise canceling close-talking microphone; extremely rugged.
A special, hypercardioid close-talking dynamic microphone for talkback use in professional studios.
Small and lightweight, the D58 has an integral XLR connector for mounting on a gooseneck or mic cable. Finish is satin nickel.
The D58 is small and inconspicuous, extremely rugged noise-canceling microphone.

Electro Voice 602t = 300 to 5,000 Hz
Handheld dynamic microphone, designed for high articulation speech transmission under high ambient noise.

All my radios pass up to 4000 hertz before tapering off. Unless your rig does the same, you won't be able to hear those highs. Most rigs pass up to 3000 hertz before tapering off.
