When I was a young man the add's in the back of my Boy's Life Magazines and Field and Stream usualy said to all 8-10 weeks for deliver sometimes longer then that....When I was living in Europe on Uncle Sam's dime it took exactly 11-14 days for a letter or package addressed to my APO address to get to me. So I had to take that on to any other delay. So I was pretty patient when it came to waiting for mail to arrive.

Fast forward to today I can order something from Amazon.Com and usually I have it in less then 24 hours if it comes out of their warehouse and that is with their free "Super Saver Shipping" I never pay for quicker shipping. The longest it has ever taken me to get a package from Amazon is 3 days!!!! Ebay is the same thing if I get a good Ebayer that goes to the post office once a day like on their way to work or something Ialways get stuff in under a week. The only time it takes longer then that is if I am ordering from one of the former CCCP/USSR States then it takes a long time.......

So I won a multimeter that can read up too 5000VDC/5000VAC and does all the standard stuff like testing diodes, continuity and Ohms, etc....It has only been 2 days and I when I hear the mail mans vechile coming down the road I am tossing on a shirt and pulling socks on while hopping on one foot etc....expecting her to pull into my drive way and have me sign for it.....She always has to coment on where my packages come from.....I live in a villiage of 1000 people so I am probably the only person getting packages from Taiwan, Russia, Ukraine,China etc.......I build a lot of different things not related remotely to electronics so I get my parts where I get the best deal and the right level of precision and materials.

So in my olod age instead of getting more patient I have gotten less patient then when I was 12.....LOL Is that progress???LOL

I told my son the other day I would love it if I could just put my debit card in a machine and have an industrial replicator like Star Trek and just have that Peter Dahl transformer materialize on a transport pad in the center of town....LOL

Even if I am in the lazy boy when I hear the mail vechile or the UPS Truck I snap to attention......If I am at someone elses house with out any windows to look out I can tell them UPS just pulled up outside with a package...I know the sound of their engine how bad is that.....Can you say Classic Pavlovian Conditioning as in Pavlov's Dog...LOL

In you older age you are more aware of time and it's approaching end.

Companies see this and have adapted their practices to oblige our need it today or instant gratification and have stream lined their businesses with machinery and computers to fill this desire.

This is very true......I can remember the day I became aware of my mortality..........That was the day I first feared for my life when I was climbing with no gear and almost died......I had almost died a thousands time before and never even a second thought no quicken of the pulse nothing....... So unlike most I know the exact day that I became aware that life was short and I was not going to live for ever. It is true I do value life more since then and I am very aware that my time is growing shorter with each passing day!

Youth is wasted on the young. By the time you figure out life what is truly important to you and the value of each breath it is too late to take advantage of it!!!! I am slightly ahead of the game but not by much...
