Have you looked at the noise floor of these types of receivers? Its in the -125dBm range, and goes much higher, when you crank up the RF gain. Turn the radio off, floor goes to about the -130dBm range for mine at, depending on RES BW and how much time I want to spend on the scan at that setting (can be 10 seconds per division at the slowest scan rate). Back on and width with the carrier present, I can differentiate the carrier > 70dB above the radio's noise floor at I/F, depending on RF gain and injected signal strength, of course.


What is the best C/N you typically measure with yours and what was the lowest noise floor you made your measurements at ?
