How to reduce dead key on uniden PC68XL

Right now my radio i just purchased is putting out 5 watts dead key. i'm looking to hook it up to my mobile amp so to my understanding i should be at 1 watt or around that to not harm the amp or radio? Any photos or video explaining how to do this would be great!

Put 2kohm pot between the collector and the resistor connected to the collector of the predriver transistor.
Red dot marks the place.

Hello Mike, is this what you would call a dial A watt? Like to put one in my old Washington. I dont have crap for a clear schematic. I guess there is quite a few versions

I know it sounds dumb but I don't bloody hell know how to tell. I have 3 Washington's and they are all a bit different. I did know the PLL IC. Sorry to mention it Mike, I can't really tell you.

Near edge, look for UNIDEN...

Or as in a PC-68/78, Cobra 29/25 TRC-427 - et. al. - near center open area of no components to leave room for the speaker cone. Cobra line was assembled under the UNIDEN umbrella for contract work...

Some - like Cobra have moved on to use KEPC (Korean Electronic Parts Company) and a number...

Well I don't bloody know. When I get home from work I could shoot you some pics. I have 3 Washington's, and they are a bit different. I only know what PLL IC it has. MB8719, I have some schematics that are a little bit different from what I'm looking at. Thanks Mike.

I'll send you some pics of my Frankenstein radio. Many mid 80's mods. Built in power source for D104 mic, The final mounted on rail of the bottom portion rail, I was told it was bullet proof. Extra channels which are all over the place. However a mad (crazy)
radio tech gave it to me, my first radio. It worked beautiful until my ground plane blew down. I put in a cabinet for 20 years until I moved to AZ. I still works but the audio speaker is very thin and weak. I got Lou Franklins books on repair. It don't help me a bit if I can't find a damn thing he mentions to look for. There is know audio transformer. My transistors mounted by where the final was have no numbers, Argg

Ok I do have a picture of my amp that Matt reworked for me. He did a beautiful jod.
I supplied the relays, switches, caps, and diodes he reworked the whole darn thing.
Polished every thing and tuned it up. Only pics I have right now.
