Can anyone tell me how to wire a Turner +2 to a Colt Excalibur SSB? I can't find it in the Turner wiring guide. The wire colors are red black white and shield. Any help would be much appreciated... Thanks, Dan
TM86 thanks for the info... DanPulling from here: http://www.iw5edi.com/ham-radio/5882/mic-wiring-diagrams
And here: http://hammadeparts.jivetones.com/Amateur_Radio_Manuals_Schematics/MICROPHONES/Turner Wiring Diagrams (Var. microphones) WW.pdf
Looks like it should be:
white (audio) -> pin 1
Shield (ground) -> pin 2
Red (receive) -> pin 3
Black (transmit) -> pin 4
From the Turner guide it looks like you'll have to figure out whether or not you need to move wires between contacts on the PTT switch. Unless the mic has a switch for going between electronic and relay switching already built in. I can see from eBay pics that there is a switch on the bottom of the mic, but I can't tell if that's for switching between keying types or for disconnecting the battery power.
All standard disclaimers apply, since I don't actually own either of these.
