The 2600 is the last of the HR series family (not including the remake of rhe Lincoln)

The 2600 is a 10m HAM radio with CTCSS repeater Tone Select.

Basically it is the same design as the 2510 and lincoln.

The Microprocessor does not have the extra programming for 11M that was included in almost every 2510 (a limited production run of the 2510 did not have the 11m programming in the microprocessor)

The 2600 is only convertable with a Microprocessor replacement or an XTAL swap. For micros you can use a micro from a 2510, but you will loose the CTCSS control and some features specific to the 2600. If you use a Chipswitch Replacement Microprocessor, you will be able to gain 10, 11, 12 and 15m (15m with a password and some circuit mods) Without losing any of the functionality designed into the 2600, and add many new features as well.

See www.chipswitch.com

for more info.

Many of the modifications for the 2510 and Lincoln will work on the 2600.

This alone makes this a fine radio to use.

I hope this helps,

Roger
