HR2510... driver is dead now?

a few days ago the final went... popped in an MRF455 and fired her up... a little while later in middle of a short transmission the TX died again... it was the driver this time

this is what I know...

1.) a few hours after I got this radio the final died (even thought I have good power, good ground and great SWRs)

2.) a few hours after installing a new final (MRF455) the driver died...

3.) installing a new driver did nothing

4.) if I talk on the HR2510 with another radio nearby it will hear the HR2510

5.) the 'TX' indicator on the LCD display turns on when you key the mic

6.) no power on the external meters

7.) before it died everyone said it sounded GREAT and was VERY clean sounding

Sounds like the final to me. Check your solder work. If that doesn't work, then float the MRF and check it with an ohm meter.

The last thing I would do is fart around with mosfets until you know whats up. Might have to send it away to Doc or Rogerbird and be done with it.

Man i hope not. I just bought these radios from a wwdx forum member. It would have been a great price if one of them had not shot craps in such a short period of time

I feel like I bought a radio that needs an alignment end a parts radio for $175

I do not think the seller expected this. I think he honestly thought the radio worked
