Well I for one will thank you for that info. I have a Uniden 2830 that I don't use any more, but it has exactly the same fault, although intermittently. Strangely it only happens if the radio has been on long enough to warm up, then switched off and switched back on, then the RX meter will go full scale and no RX audio. Turning the radio off for 5-10 minutes, all is well again next time you power up.

I'll try the fix you mentioned and see if it works, thanks again.
