anyone seen this before:?

J0124A Handheld Speaker Mic for Kenwood HT TK HYT PUXING QUANSHENG WOUXUN+Antenn | eBay

Problem i see is everything is Reverse so you would need an adapter to plug the Antenna wire into the HT and a another adapter to run your diamond srh triband antenna on the hand mic... this:
SMA_male_to_SMA_male_adapter.jpg
and this:
SMA_male_to_SMA_female_adapter.jpg

i don't think you will need any adaptors on the wouxon...
look at the two cables coming out of the mic, the two pin connector goes into the side of the radio, and the apparent all ready connector (gold) into the antenna of the wouxon.

on edit: what is the connector on your diamond srh triband? there you might need adaptor depending on what you got.

if those connectors you are showing are sma to female sma adaptors, then i believe you got it right my friend!

I wonder if it's possible to use just the speaker/mike functions of this thing and leave the antenna on the radio where it is. My old Kenwood HT (30+ years old) has a speaker/mike extension that is quite handy: clip radio to belt and clip mike to shirt collar and go.

Beats taking your eye out with a rubber duckie.

I would think having the antenna at ur shoulder vs. Your hip your chances of not picket fencing would be slim.

Picket fencing has a lot more causes than that.It is due mainly to multipathing. A mobile with a roof mounted antenna in the clear can still picket fence badly. Sometimes moving a foot or so can make the difference between full quieting and dropping the repeater.

Ah I did not know that. Thanks for that info.

So u think a antenna at the hip would perform the same as to it being at the shoulder? Of course keep in mind this would be on vhf and maybe uhf.

There won't be much of a difference, and what there is might be evened out by adding a tiger tail. That's usually the first thing I do when I'm working with an unfamiliar HT/antenna.
