Hugo Is DEAD

Must be hell for Rodman when he's not in the news. I feel so bad for him. Yawn.

Venezuela is now accusing us of giving Chavez cancer.

Hugo Chavez, fiery Venezuelan leader, dies at 58 - Yahoo! News

What the news meant to report is that his coons finally took him out of the freezer. He was dead on arrival (pun intended) from Cuba. Thinking that people are stupid, they produced a photoshop'd picture of him with family, to persuade Venezuelans and the world that Hugo was still alive. His right hand, Maduro, just needed to keep the news buried while he develop a strategy to stay in power, and perhaps deflect the coup d'état (golpe de estado) that will ensue.

The hollywood reporter share the upper ranks of credibility with the national enquirer. If there is any truth reflecting Sean P & Oliver S. sentiments about Chavez, then each have lost an admirer. Obviously they do not speak an iota of Spanish nor ever bothered to have Hugo's speaches translated to them. He spoke nothing but dong, ka-ka and poison about our Nation. He promoted communism across Central, South America & the Caribbean. He forcibly removed the concept of private property by taking away businesses, land & personal liberties from hard-working Venezuelans. Downgraded a well-developed & vibrant Country, as it was when I used to visit in mid 1980's, to a dump. He controlled the news media (except for Globovision), the courts & protected his military/ police every time they were acused of rape or abuse. Whomever refers to him as a hero would also hold Hitler as a savior.

Nothing can be proved/disproved concerning the allegations of the US making Hugo ill.
However, his illness was a media opportunity to blame the US.

As far as the spy allegation in the US ambassador's office; that isn't news. That is typical and true. However, it is also true for every foreign country in the world that has an embassy here in the US as well. Something like 'the pot calling the kettle black' comes to mind here. IOW - so what!

Having Sean Penn and Oliver Stone stand up for Chavez is akin to guilt by association.
If Chavez has friends like that; then who needs enemies?

That is how I see it anyway.

I think Dennis Rodman had a diplomatic trip to Venezuela planned, looks like that just fell through.
The next leader would be even worse though......maybe Rodman could fix that with his charm.

Listening to NPR this morning, they played a clip from Hugo's tv show where he was calling then president bush a "burro" which basically he was calling him an ass.

anyway i believe his socialist and tyrannical approach has left that country in shambles, if Maduro continues the leadership then nothing changes...if someone else manages to get into power then the work of over hauling the damage done will be of horrendous proportion and could lead to further chaos.

it may be a catch 22

Part of the platform used by Chavez to gain presidency, was to convince his own people that the US oil Companies authorized to drill & exploit the crude reservoirs, were sharing a 'meager' 10% of the profits with Venezuela. After USA was forced to leave & abandon equipment, Venezuela took over but was unable to keep up with maintenance. The oil they are now exporting is a small fraction of the capacity at which the plants ran at one time. 75% of the platforms are inoperable. The news keep saying he was favored by the poor. Truth is that ever since expropiating the upper & middle class, he promised free houses to the poor. They used to get a "promisory note" for a house. Chinese contracting companies & equipment were sent to Venezuela to build housing, but not one single poor person has been granted the free housing. It is true that he has helped other poor countries while his people suffer, however, the underlying motive is to promote communism and socialism. Just take a look at the caos he has caused to Bolivia, Ecuador, Uruguay & Nicaragua. Ask Sean P. and Oliver and the ball player if they still wish to applaud their 'hero'. There is a good reason why he sought medical treatment for prostate cancer in Cuba rather than trusting his own (very competent) physicians in Venezuela.
