Im sorry to the forum for all of the smartass things i have said. I am an after 5 alcoholic i dont even know why i am saying this on here. Please forgive the thread.. And yes I have been to rehab twice..........

Bobby, I am going to take the liberty of saying it is OK to lean on us here
in the forum.

Many of us like me and yourself, have been around here from day one and have
a friendship going back years, talking on the airways and in the chat room many hours.

I took a break for a couple or three years but I would not hesitate to say their are others
that feel the same way.

I will not try to one up you on the forum however I will say this, God Loves You
I Love You and many others here also I have no doubt about it.

I quit drinking on June 13th 1986, thats 23 year now and I was a start at 9am kind
of alcoholic and I know that you can also. You are now headed in the right direction.

With your permission, I wil open my e-mail in my member profile and if you would like
to e-mail or message me and I will give you my phone number.

I have yours somewhere but lord only knows where. We are not to far from each other
as Teas miles go :)

If you would like to call and rap some, I will make myself available 24/7..

Just remember that God Loves You and this is the Devils work. You Can Beat It...

Love Ya,
John

Are you in one of those 10 step programs and this is one of the hurdles?

Well, I hope ya make it. But realize there is only one thing that can save you...

Maybe Jesus can help, but it's all up to you, Bub.

UT, I think you're a good guy I'm not really sure about all the smartalec stuff you're referring to. Hey like they say, admitting a problem is the beginning of wisdom. It seems to me you will overcome this temporary problem just fine.

Lean on us. We will help!

And....uh....eh.....forget all that "stay thirsty my friends" crap you MIGHT see here and there

if i had to look at dead people all day long; i would probably want a drink at 5pm too!

all kidding aside if we are experiencing negative effects from our drinking, and we still cant stop; then it might be time to look for some support.

i had to quit completely because in the city i live in, there is no last call. as long as you are gambling, they will keep serving.
talk about an expensive habit!

hope all turns out well for ya,
LC

Good luck man i wish you the best. BTW i hope the texas star i sent you is getting some good use. I wish i still had it now but thanks for the antenna.
Good luck
Stay up and be well
take care bobby

I thought i'd found a fellow Scotsman when i read the title,

seriously though mate, you've just overcome the biggest hurdle in beating your problems, and that is admitting them to yourself.

I don't do god or devils  ,all that stuff is probably more damaging than alcohol or drugs, but I can assure you the best weapon against any problem is your own willpower and self belief.to beat anything you have to want to do it bad enough.

GOOD LUCK!!!

Bobby,
I would reiterate what Dealer said. We've been a long time together here and it really took a lot for you to share what you did. Anytime you need an ear just email or PM me. Will sure remember you in my prayers.

Undertaker; you are halfway there at this point in time. The second half of your battle is learning to control your desire or need to drink.
I strongly suggest that you now locate your nearest chapter of AA and join the group. My Father and Mother were recovered alchohloics, it killed my brother at the young age of 35 in 1987 and was a contributing factor in my sisters death at age 53.
I seem to be the only member of my family that did not inherit the gene for alchoholism and for that I will always be thankful.
My mother was a treatment aid at Cedar Lodge in guntersville, Alabama for the last 20 years of her life and never dropped out of AA even after she quit drinking.
You have obviously looked yourself in the eye in the mirror and admitted you have a problem, then you have taken the very bold and extremely hard step of admitting your addiction in front of a group of your peers with your confession here.
I admire and applaud your courage and hope that you can now find the inner strength to carry on and get the help you need.
There will be ups and downs, good days and very bad days in your battle against your addiction to alchohol.
Never give up and please post here on your progress whether it be forward or backwards. your friends here will always be ready with a kind word and will offer you encouragement every step of the way.

Your DX friend,

PRO151.

You guya are the best!!! I have a history of alcoholism in my family.. I dont know what to say I was sober for 9 years!!! And then well you know the rest..

Thanks to all for the support!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

No need to apologize at all Bobby. We meet here under assumed names talking about radio and such and the greatest thing of all is to realize there are real people with real lives and problems behind those names and I feel honored to try to be of any help or encouragement.(y)
