These radio face plates where not ever marketed here in The US?
The wood grain looks nice and the Mobile models would fit well in-dash on some of the nice luxury cars with wood grain dash inserts.
Question for you guy`s in the UK?
How many model`s do you guys see for sale, or past models that use wood grain face plates?

Bob85 does not think wood grain is sexy, just ask him about my famous Frankenstar amplifier.

You can get a faceplate of almost any kind. Good value as well.

The wood thing doesn't do much for me.

the wood grain Cherokee face plates were fugly, im glad they never caught on with the us crowd.

It would involve some work, naturally, but why couldn't you make your own custom mask to fit any radio you wanted? The capabilities of the computer you're using to see this forum should be adequate with a half way decent graphics program. If you can 'PhotoShop' a picture, you should be able to put anything you wanted on the faceplate of a radio (or anything else for that matter).

stalker st9fdx and stalker 1x both had woodgrain,as did the dirland dss9000,also the dss9000f which had built in frequency counter, both made by ranger rci for dirland france i believe.

probably a few more as well.

for me woodgrain is seriously tacky although would go well in many of the 80's vehicles with wooden dash.in a homebase setup they look naff, unless your 105 years old and live in a brown house.
