I wonder how the IC-9100 will work on Satellite work?

I use a Kenwood B-2000 on HF and another one on VHF-UHF 6 meters.
I wanted to use one for satellite work with SatPC32 and using
TRX-manager to controll the radio. One problem Ive run into is
both programs are trying to use the same port.
Is there a way to run both SatPC32 and TRX-manager at
the same time? Anyone do that?

I do have the remote head which I could use to tune the freq on the radio
but would prefer to use TRX-manager to control the radio.

I might go after the IC-9100 and replace the B-2000 rigs all together.

Maybe a FT-736R just for satellite work would be ok too. Can you still
get those repaired?

It sounds to me like the main issue you're facing is that both programs you want to use need to access the computer-rig serial port at the same time. This is not a rig issue, but a fundamental PC limitation and any new rig will have the same limitation. Have you tried to see if Ham Radio Deluxe will satisfy your needs? It has satellite tracking and rig control, all in one package. The best part is that it's free.

Using Kenwood B-2000 and SatPC32

Looks like I found a way to control the radio using the SatPC32 from
it freq controls I can tune across the freqs and just use the control
head RC2000 to control the volume or squelch as needed. The SatPC32
does everything else including dopper shift and turning rotors for the
antennas.
Looks this will work. Now Im going to order up a LVB Tracker.
