Does anyone know if the IC756 Pro ll can have the 11 meter conversion done to it. Or would the operator have to run 2 rigs.

Thanks in advance for any info.

OK I found it. Did a search & found some info by Mr. Pain -- Thank you Sir

Thanks Hook,

__It was a pleasure DXing with you the other day. Your mobile was very strong & crystal clear on my end.

__I just ordered the above rig. Looks like I will be eating potted meat for a while.

Take care & 73's

Its only illegal if the equipment is used to transmit on illegal freqs. Its legal to transmit on CB as long as the output at the transmiter is not over the legal limit. If im mistaken, feel free to correct me. Im interested in this equipment for its ability to hear weak stations below the noise level. If I decide to transmit on Ham freqs, I will defenitly do it with respect to FCC rules & regulations.

PS -- Its also legal to build a transmitter for 26.000 & transmit without a license, as long as its not connected to a radiator. It would be illegal for me to sell this transmitter as production.

Otisoil,

For a radio to be used legally on CB (under part 95),

it has to be type accepted by the FCC. If it doesn't

have the type acceptance, or, if it's been modified after

type acceptance, it isn't legal.

The only services in which you can use a modified radio

is Part-15 and Part-97. These two still have technical

requirements the radio must meet, but you don't have

to go through the 'acceptance' procedure unless you

make them commercially.

Type acceptance is primarily for commercial manufacturors.

The definition of a commercial manufaturor isn't exactly

what you might think it is, though...

Otisoil I will correct you you are not allowed to use a Ham radio on CB Legally. Just wanted to tell you I am not a legal eagle. Instead of spending 2000.00 on a better radio that is Illegal for CB buy a better antenna and coax. I also wouldnt transmit on the ham bands without a license. They get kinda funny about that and $10,000 may persuade you not to. Spend the moeny on a good antenna and coax that will draw in the weak signals at a much cheaper price.

Doc,

__Thanks for the heads up on that. The rules are confusing. Its like reading my insurance policy ( im covered if I read it -- im not covered if the insurance man reads it to me).

123,

__ Thanks for du advice. I have a decent antenna system, but I live in an area riddled with man-made noise. My antenna while recieving weak stations very well when its quiet, also recieves big noise whens its not quiet --- usually when the ground is dry. You are excactly right on the antenna thing though--- No radio station will perform well without a proper antenna system.

NOTE: Its not legal to go 56 in a 55 mph zone.

73's & take care guys

Doc,

__One more thing,

___I highly respect your advice on ALL Things Radio. It consists of 90 percent of the jury in my mind.

Thank you Sir
